Teachers and admins often are afraid to let kids fail at all on their watch and this adds to the perfectionism, avoidance, and anxiety in some gifted kids. We just chose a new private school for our 11 year old PG boy and a key part of that is that the middle school head spoke to parents about LETTING the kids fail.
